A poetic and sensual invitation to dream

With her vital and passionate designs, the star designer Patricia Urquiola, in collaboration with Axor, is introducing a new element of sensuality into the bathroom environment. The bathroom collection Axor Urquiola and the underlying concept for the room result in an imaginative and sensual solution for the bathroom with contrasting zones of privacy and transparency, the symbiosis between sleeping and bathing areas and indulgent shapes and precise details.

A very individual, female view of the bathroom
She has now extended her vision of the bathroom, which Patricia Urquiola first revealed in 2005 in the WaterDream, incorporating her multi-faceted personality and eclectic approach. Axor Urquiola creates an ambience full of lightness and verve, interwoven with poetry, harmony and sensuality as a recurrent theme. In exemplary fashion Patricia Urquiola here combines innovation and functionality with lightness and comfort, not forgetting a trace of coquetry. With her personal and female perception, she gives us a chance to experience the bathroom from a totally new angle.

Individual elements for one large entity
The individual product at Axor Urquiola already possesses its own poetic note. So the mixers that dispense the natural element of water with their expansive handles emerging from the main body like an organic element and combining with it in an asymmetric arrangement. A free-standing room-divider which, functioning simultaneously as a radiator, gives the room heat, visually partitions bedroom and bathroom, while still leaving connections open. Through their shapes, the archetypal wash basins and baths are reminiscent of bygone washtubs, thus recalling the “good old times”.

Creating one’s own retreat
“This collection can enchant each of us in our own special way and thus allows us to individually design our own private retreats and domains of well-being,” explains a convinced Philippe Grohe, manager of the designer brand Axor. “This is even more true because Axor Urquiola is our most comprehensive and complete bathroom collection to date, extending from mixers, bathtubs and washbasins through to a radiator, which can either be installed as a free-standing partition or as a wall-mounted heater.”

Room for intimacy
The designer translates her sensitive perception of living environments, historic role models and everyday situations very pragmatically into the Axor Urquiola spatial concept. In the process she planned the room in such a way that the sleeping area and the bathroom fused into a harmonic interplay of sleeping, hygiene, relaxation and regeneration. One can meet each other, communicate with each other and still protect one’s intimacy.“I designed this bathroom for an imaginary couple, for two different personalities. The issue of intimacy was very important for me here: I see the washing area as the place where I take care of my very personal needs.” This continuing exciting dialogue between the individual products and the living-space bathroom creates a very special poetry and sensuality as well as the verve and powerful expression of Axor Urquiola.
