Shower planning brochure and interactive planning tool for the Axor Starck ShowerCollection facilitate individually tailored shower planning
“Use your creativity. Just mix it!” This is the challenge issued by French designer Philippe Starck to come up with highly individual designs for the shower. It also alludes to the countless ways in which elements of the Axor Starck ShowerCollection can be combined. The shower planning brochure published by Axor contains suggestions to help kick off the creative design process, and it answers any technical questions that may arise along the design journey. The interactive Axor Starck ShowerCollection planning tool enables a focused, tailor-made shower space to be created by computer.
A comprehensive construction kit
The basic element of the Axor Starck ShowerCollection is a 12 x 12 centimeter square that can perform a range of different functions: shower, thermostat, lighting or speaker modules, as well as shelving units conform to the same square shape and the same austere design, as are the control elements such as faucets and mixers. Their minimalist clear lines, achieved through uniform dimensions and geometrical precision, create an air of tranquility in the shower and focus attention on what really matters: enjoyment of the water.
The personal well-being shower: planning made easy
The range of different designs made possible using the Axor Starck ShowerCollection is virtually unlimited. Centered horizontally, aligned vertically or arranged in a finely tuned asymmetry – all the modular elements co-exist in perfect harmony: their basics sets allow for these elements to be assembled into groups, or they can be installed in a loose arrangement with total flexibility. The shower planning brochure contains examples detailing solutions for the installation of electrical and plumbing components as well as piping. It also provides technical information about the various products, including detailed assembly instructions. Manufacturers’ details for complementary products such as wash basins, furniture or light fittings, and information about building requirements round off the contents of the brochure. Philippe Grohe explains: “In this brochure we merely present a small number of the possible scenarios that show how the individual modules in this collection come together to create a dream shower for personal well-being.” However, the Axor Starck ShowerCollection offers an exceptional degree of freedom not only in terms of design: “The modular construction of the system is the basis for the scalability of the shower collection: It gives the customer the option to build a shower to a scale commensurate with his personal preferences, and with the water consumption characteristics he requires,” says Philippe Grohe. An interactive planning tool supplied on DVD lets customers create visual representations of basic shower designs quickly and easily. Once the shower space has been laid out with the preferred dimensions, the shower modules, ShowerHeaven models and accessories can be freely arranged inside using the computer mouse. The virtual layout and the associated list of components can then be printed out.
A harmonious design and spatial concept
As the bathroom has evolved from a purely functional wet cell into a well-being space, interior design has become an essential and determining aspect. “Conventional, technical interior design concepts,” explains Philippe Grohe, “are giving way to the desire for coherent, harmonious space solutions that go beyond the individual product, and beyond mere functionality.” He sums up: “The Axor Starck ShowerCollection organises the shower. The uniform dimensioning of the elements creates clarity and tranquility in terms of product layout. State-of-the-art installation and shower technologies minimize any problems in the realization, while maximizing the enjoyment factor in the shower. This results in a set of persuasive arguments for each of the participants: Architects and bathroom designers are provided with the level of creative freedom they need; plumbers with the technical certainty necessary for a successful installation; and the consumers derive maximum enjoyment during their daily shower.”
The Axor Starck ShowerCollection shower planning brochure is available in 13 languages.
